The Girl of Fire and Thorns blogtour and giveaway

One of my favourite books so far this year is The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson it's due for release tomorrow so I am super dooper fan girly excited that Rae has dropped in today to tell us about her top 3 favourite scenes to write.

Take it away Ray-

#3. The opening. When you start a new project, there’s this glorious feeling of creative power and energy. The world is yours! Your book is going to ROCK! That feeling dribbles away as you approach the muddling middle and realize that, hey, writing books is really hard. Ah, but that opening… I call it the “writer high!”

#2. Any scene with Cosmé. She was one of my favorite characters—so much going on beneath the surface that is only hinted at on the outside. She despises Elisa as much as she needs her, and whenever I wrote a scene with her, it felt effortless to get the tension between them to crackle on the page. It was fun to gradually bring them into a more mature and steady relationship.

#1. The death of <redacted>. Once I decided to kill <redacted>, I knew with bone-deep knowing that it was the right decision. And everything I did from that point on was designed to make the eventual death of <redacted> as poignant and punchy as possible. So when I got there, the words really flowed. I felt like I had earned the scene, and I knew exactly what to do and how to do it.

You are going to have to read it now to find out who Ray kills off! Thank you so much Ray.
