Jasmine is a talented guitarists who chooses joining a band and standing on her own two feet over her Dad's wishes for her to go to college. As her Dad kicks her out Jasmine needs to find a place to stay, a job to pay for her car repair bill and is desperate to follow her dream of being in a band. She finds a room to rent with 3 guys who happen to be in a band and who are advertising for both a room mate and a guitarist Jasmine has to then audition and convince them she is the perfect band mate. However, despite her obvious musical talent Jasmine suffers from crippling stage fright and has never been able to play live so finds herself lying to the band telling them she has live experience under her belt to keep a roof over her head and her place in the band. Their first gig is pretty disastrous and Jasmine has to then work exceptionally hard to redeem herself with her bandmates.
Ladies (and fellas) I feel the need to specifically mention Sean the bassist *fans self* the chemistry between Jasmine and Sean is hot despite the fact he isn't quite over his ex-girlfriend (who ran off with the bands ex-guitarist) and Jasmine isn't exactly the most trusting and open of individuals. But they are great together and he is clearly a potential book boyfreind. Yummy.
Amplified is the perfect book for you if (like me) you love the idea of being in a band and have a certain fondness for guitar playing rock gods. Great fun.
