Lords of Deliverance #2
Publication date: 22nd Nov 2011
My rating 4 out of 5
I was lucky enough to read this via Net Galley prior to it's publication date but I know I will be buying it as Lords of Deliverance is set to be another fantastic series from Larissa Ione.
Immortal Rider's Limos really took me by surprise, as one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse she was surprisingly vulnerable and likeable, don't worry though she does get to break out and kick ass to defend her man but it's far from a hearts and flowers kind of story. Limos was promised to Satan as his bride by her mother when born but has carefully avoided a hell like wedding so when the very yummy Arik steals a kiss from her Satan sucks him down to hell in a jealous rage leaving Limos in a race against time to save him. If Arik says her name in agony whilst being tortured in hell Limos will finally be forced down to hell for her wedding to Satan. On top of this Limos has the pesky problem of her seal to deal with, which if it breaks will turn her into Famine and will push the world one step closer to Armageddon so no pressure there.
This is the kind of series that just grabs your attention, it's fast paced, full of twists and turns and tonnes of heat. Limos and Arik made for a great couple as Limos's past and her resulting lies and betrayals are coming back to haunt her and Arik is the only man who has ever really made her feel good about herself. The series just keeps building and building and with a little hint at what lies in store for Thantos (arrrggghhhh!!!) I am beyond excited for the next book in the series.
If you like gritty, sexy paranormal romance (and hey who doesn't??) then this series is definitely one of the best.
