Sasha, a love-thirsty werewolf and rightful heir to the Were throne, is ready to take control over her pack. But when her first love, dragon shifter Damon Frost, lands on her doorstep, demanding their races negotiate ownership over Feralon’s hot springs, he makes her question more than the fight for the enchanted neutral ground. No matter the emotions bubbling inside her, Sasha can’t become involved with Damon. Not now. Not ever again.

Forbidden to step foot onto Were land after a romp with the Alpha’s daughter as a teenager, Damon has bided his time, waiting for the day when he’d be accepted back onto Were land. Using the hot spring negotiation as a way to get closer to Sasha, Damon plans to use every minute alone to remind her of the passion they shared–—a passion they could ignite again.

One night of ecstasy stands between them and the fight for the springs. One night of revealing glances, skin searing chemistry, and erotic desires they’d long buried.

Will one taste of forbidden love be enough to satiate their desires? Or will the need to explore the depths of their love unleash a Were-Draco war?

I have a real soft spot for books about dragon shifters and if the story is scorching hot and includes a yummy alpha male then I'm completely sold. Forbidden by Love is the story of Damon a Draco or Dragon shifter and the soon to be female Were alpha Sasha. Seven years ago they were teenage lovers, Sasha would sneak out from under the nose of her strict father the alpha to meet Damon at the hot springs a neutral piece of land between both territories. On Sasha's eighteenth birthday her father forbade her from ever seeing Damon again, as a Were Sasha had no choice but to follow the direct order or would have found herself kicked out of her pack.

Damon is sent by the Draco queen to negotiate with the Were's the ownership of the neutral land which holds the hot springs and in doing so comes face to face with Sasha for the first time in seven years. The attraction between Sasha and Damon is still very much there but both have loyalties to prove to their respective pack and clan.

I really loved Damon he had the most swoon worthy lines. On the surface he looks like a self assured Draco warrior when finally seeing Sasha for the first time in years but underneath it all he's blown away by the more grown up, gorgeous Sasha. I also loved that the hot springs held very special memories for both characters, very hot memories. So much so that the night before the big fight for the rights to the land, Sasha finds herself sneaking out for a final steamy encounter with Damon, as a sort of a last chance for freedom before taking over as Were alpha.

"Does Daddy Dearest know where you are?"
Crossing one foot over the other, Sasha slowly made her way around the bubbling spring. "Well," she said, picking up the bottom of her dress and guiding it over the rocks. "He knows I'm not getting into trouble."
"Aren't you?"
The corner of her kissable mouth quirked. "He thinks I'm in my room."
"If that's the case, he's not the brightest wolf in the pack," Damon fought out. "There's a lot of trouble that can be found in your room." Despite himself, he was assailed with memories of their past and heated romps on her bed.
"Out here, too, it seems."

I think it was because Damon bore the brunt of the punishment for their relationship that really endeared him to me. Cast out from his Draco clan he's been living alone waiting to see if Sasha would ever come back into his life.

"You've chosen a place that seems most accessible to other races, instead of choosing a home that is only accessible by flying. That doesn't make sense."
When he looked up at her, his eyes were ghostly white. "It makes sense if you've waited every minute of every day for seven long years for the love of your life to come walking through that door."

See what I mean? Completely swoon worthy! I loved him to bits and although Sasha didn't quite come across initially as particularly alpha-in-waiting I really was rooting for them to get together against all the odds. If you're looking for a hot little shifter romance then Forbidden by Fate is definitely worth checking out.

Meet the author:

Kristin Miller has had a passion for language and literature her whole life. Born and raised in Small Town USA, she often made up stories about faraway places and edge-of-your-seat adventures.

After graduating from Humboldt State University with a degree in psychology, Kristin realised there is no scarier place than the warped human psyche. Wanting to combine her love of writing with her desire to paint twisted villains, Kristin wound up in the unlikeliest of places—the classroom. She taught high school and middle school English before giving in to the desire to create her own world, where villains can be sympathetic and heroes can be devilishly good.
