My book boyfriend: Frank from In Rides Trouble by Julie Ann Walker

Hi everyone welcome to another week of My book boyfriend, I'm co-hosting MBB whilst the lovely Missie from The Unread Reader is taking a little blogging break to focus on school.

Meet my latest book boyfriend Frank from In Rides Trouble by Julie Ann Walker.

Some Frank facts:
- He runs Black Knights, Inc a group of ex-military special op's sent to do dangerous work the government doesn't want anyone to know about.
- His cover is a specialist biker shop making custom built bikes.
- He has a Harley and is an all out alpha male.
- He has a protective streak a mile wide and has lusted after Becky the wise cracking bike designer for three and a half years but thinks he's too old for her (He's 39 she's 26).
- When Becky finds herself held hostage by Somali pirates he rescues her nearly tearing his arm off to save her from falling overboard.

I've picked a few Frank quotes to let you see exactly how utterly A-MAZ-ING he is:

Right from the outset Becky gets completely under Frank's skin:
"It's obvious you're a decent mechanic, and that's really what I need right now, more decent mechanics. Plus," she stood and winked, "it might be nice to have a big, strong dreamboat like you around the place day-in and day-out. Something fun to look at when my muse abandons me."
he opened his mouth... but nothing came out. He could only stare and blink like a bewildered owl.
Holy hell, was she flirting with him?

When Becky finds herself captured by Somali pirates whilst on holiday it's up to Frank and his group of Black Knights to rescue her:
"Well, it's about damn time you got here," she groused, tilting her chin far back and letting her eyes drink in his wonderfully familiar face.
The bright overhead lightening highlighted his frame and reminded her just how big he really was. With shoulders like a stevedore, bowling ball-sized muscles in his upper arms, and thighs like a professional baseball catcher,  he was a mountain of a man.

When saving Becky results in a serious injury Frank seems to be a bit more relaxed around Becky whilst out of it on powerful pain medication which results in a much longed for kiss:
"Frank," she whispered his name, her heart threatened to come crashing through her breastbone.
He groaned, the sound intoxicatingly fierce and darkly yearning, and then he was kissing her.
Frank Knight was kissing her.
Her. Rebecca Reichert, the thorn in his side, the professed bane of his existence, and his full male lips were so warm and surprisingly smooth as they brushed over her own.

I just love this last quote:
All he cared about was that this was what he wanted. This was what he was finished denying himself.
This woman. This night.
It was all that mattered.

Isn't he just divine? Black Knights, Inc is a great new series brimming full of yummy alpha male potential book boyfriends *sighs dreamily.* You can check out my reviews here and here.

  1. Any man who would risk ripping off his own arm for you is a keeper! I love their banter. He may be older, but I think that just makes him more appealing.

    1. Totally agree ripping off your arm should be considered as going the extra mile for someone:)

  2. D'awww! Swooning right now. It may not be very feminist of me, but I've a weakness for a guy with a protective streak. I also love that last quote! Frank sounds amazing! :)
